Cameron Muniz: Musical Emotions

When I was in the fourth grade, I was going through a tough time. It seemed as if nothing was going my way. It was almost like life did not want me to succeed. I was always super grumpy and angry. So, I found an outlet through music. The genre of music I listened to was country. Songs like Chicken Fried by the Zach Brown Band and Save  it For a Rainy Day thought me that although life throws curveballs at us and we may feel down on ourselves, we need to get over these conflicts in life and "Save it For a Rainy Day". These songs were just a few examples of songs that helped me relax and put life into perspective. Despite the stereotype, country music is very relaxing and helps a lot of people chillax. Overall, country music got me through a tough time in my life and helped me unwind.

Don't let me down- The ChainSmokers ft.Daya

I chose this song because it talks about how someone really needs someone to not let them down but that person gets let down. This song is one of my favorite songs because it has a lot of meaning and I like the lyrics. The Chain Smokers have made more songs like this before like the song Roses they kind of have a similar background noise. The song was published on February 5,2016 and it was a big hit and still kind of is. Drew Taggart made all of the Chain Smokers songs possible. Ounce I have listened to this song I thought of it to be really good but, then it turned to be my favorite song of 2016 so far. The album that this song is in is a really good album to listen to and download. Lucky for me I have and know people who will never let me down until the end. I can rely on people to be there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0citpYDaVg

Musical Emotions

Think about it.  What is the soundtrack of your life?  What songs inspire you?  Enrage you?  Comfort you?  Allow you to be yourself?  Release you?  Allow you to cry?
I could go on, but I think you get the picture.  I want the bloggers and readers to think about the following emotions:

Anger/ Rage

Sadness

Happiness

Loneliness

Comfort

Relief

Pride

Loss

Think about how you deal with each emotion, or a moment in time where you felt this emotion.  What was that moment?  What were you going through?  How old?
Many deal with life and emotions through music: an artist/ song/ album.  For this post please take each of the emotions listed above (or others, if you want to talk about them) and write a little blurb about each one.  What was your experience with this emotion?  I then would like you to tag a musical piece to the emotion.  At least one song or artist.  Briefly explain why the song/ artist fits with your particular emotion, then please either attach the music video (through a link) or attach a picture that show this song/ artist that is related to the emotion.

READERS and BLOGGERS: This is a multiple week project.  We will tackle one of the emotions each week on our blog.  The posts will reflect the emotion of the week.  Thanks for reading.

This week it pained me to learn that a musical genius passed away.  He was an inspiration to me during all emotional phases of my life.  I was introduced to him by a very good friend of mine, named Kevin.  I met him my freshman year at Penn State.  Kevin had a giant wall poster of this musical artist and how I knew the artist, I never really paid much attention to this artist.  Kevin played the music in his room and often talked about how influential this artist was to him.  I had a lot of respect for Kevin and appreciated his kindness, wisdom and time he took to get to know me, a freshman.  I was lonely and missing my family and had a hard time making friends (first time in my life) and this sophomore took the time to get to know me and help me out (in a time when I was really struggling).  First of all, thank you Kevin for that.  Secondly, thank you for introducing me to this icon in music, that I never gave a chance of liking.  It was through Kevin's kindness that I became introduced to this artist and have enjoyed his music ever since that lonely fall in 1993, my freshman year at PSU.  I have listened to this artist's music during all phases of emotions listed above.  I will be dedicating this blog to my friend Kevin, but also to the artist Kevin introduced me too.  The artist I am speaking of is none other than Prince.  The loss of a true legend.  For the final emotion listed above (loss), I will be doing a multiple song example.  This truly is an emotion I am feeling at this time.

Mia Wheeler'sTheme Song

My theme song is Work by Rhianna. I picked this song because it reminds me to keep putting in work to achieve the goals I have. Also the hard work our teachers and Mr. Epple put in to help us grow everyday.

Work by Rihana ft. Drake

Theme Song by Cameron Muniz

Theme Song
Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC

Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC is my favorite pump up song because of its combination of tempos. It has a lot of instruments that are in AC/DC's other songs such as drums and guitar. But, what makes this song different is that it is very fast paced. This song gets me pumped up for any occasion that I need motivation for such as a big game or a big test.  Also, this song is just catchy to listen to. I also like AC/DC's other songs such as Thunderstruck and Back in Black but, this song holds a special place in my heart because it is in one of my favorite movies of all time: Iron Man 2.

Theme Song - Gabi Argentino

My theme song is "Never Forget You" by Zara Larsson. I chose this song because its about not forgetting someone/something and I know that with all the good times in this dodgeball/A5 program I will never forget Mr.Epples great sayings/quotes and the great white smile we see walking through the door every wednsday. Also I will never forget all the memories and good times here at A5 including the people and every game we play. And in this I would also like to thank Mr.Epple for starting this program and fighting for it every term.

My theme song is for whom the bell tolls by Metallica because I grew up listening to this song. Although I cant remember the whole album but this one stands out because I remember the summer days listening to this song. I guess this song just reminds me of summer, going outside with friends and playing sports.

Fight Song Link

My theme song would probably be Fight Song by Rachel Platten. This song reminds men of my uncle and reminds me that my family is strong. Whenever this song plays I blast it and brings back amazing memories and puts an amazing smile on my face. This song is an amazing song, everyone could benefit from this song. The song says that she has a lot of fight left in her, and even though life throws a curve ball at you, we get through it and come out on top. "I still got a lot of fight left in me". My fight song also tells me that when i get out at A5 i still fight and show everyone that even though I'm out I'll come back stronger the next time and to watch out.

Sam F's Theme Song

We Didn't Start the Fire is my theme song because it's a really catchy song that gives off a good message and is motivational. I only just recently learned this song and I don't listen to music often but this is something I love to listen to.

Theme Song - Logan Roberts

My theme song would be Private Eyes by Daryl Hall & John Oates because it is so upbeat, and spy like. It reminds me a lot, of well... me, spy like and upbeat with my dodging ability and my quirkiness. It is also from the 80s and I do enjoy my 80s music... SO UPBEAT DOH!

My Theme Song

My theme song is Electric City by The Geek x VRV. Its currently my favorite song. I love to listen to it because it helps me think. It has a soothing melody to me which appeals to me. I listen to it when I am just doing work and I also listen to it when I play video games because it helps me think and also calms me down so I don't break my controller.
Electric City Link

your'e the best by Joe Esposito the reason being is that the song is uplifting and a positive message.plus it is a good tune.

                                              Theme Song

Instead of a theme song, I chose a band/artists called Foreigner. My dad introduced them to me because it was one of his favorites bands. Some of the songs that I like from them are Jukebox Hero and Feels like the First Time. I like it because its not at all like pop, which is really popular now. Their songs sort of mean something, and I like the sounds of guitars better than random high pitched noises and base drops. I also like an artist called Elton John. He does rock too, but its more of a smoother rock. Its kind of hard to explain. His songs have a lot of meaning, and it usually calms me down.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fr6KVNt-1Ek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNm_LihEsn0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoskDZRLOCs

My Theme Song

My theme song is Radioactive by Imagine Dragons because it is one of my favorite songs to listen to for whatever the occasion is. This is because it inspires me to do the best I can and be the best I can at everything I do. Also I really like to listen to it before my hockey games because it makes me want to win the game even If the odds are stacked against my team. This is why this is my theme song.
Radioactive Link
My Theme song is probably warrior by matisyahu. It is a reggae/soul song and it is about staying strong and being strong when times are tough plus my favorite type of genre of songs is definitliy reggae. Also it is about freedom. And really like this song because its different and its not just a other song just like a pop song. It makes you feel confident. here is a link to my song .  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p53pDNodxHE

What is your theme song?

Theme Song Assignment
How many of you put on your favorite song to pump you up?  Or maybe it is a song you bring out for special occasions, just for the right moment?  What's the occasion?  A game you want to win.  A test you want to ace.  A moment in time you want to capture through a song.  A memory you want to mark with a song.  Whatever the reason for the song, it has meaning to you and you play it for a specific meaning and feeling.
Please take some time to think about your theme song.  What's the occasion?  Who is the artist?  What does the song mean to you?  Why is this your theme song?  Please find the lyrics to the song and put them on a document.  Please find a You Tube clip of the song/ video and put it on your document.  Then talk about the song.  Describe to our blog readers why this is your theme song.  I look forward to hearing, reading and viewing all your theme songs.  Please make sure they are school appropriate.

Mr. Epple's Theme Song:
Megadeth: Rust in Peace (Album)
I am picking an entire album as my theme song, or rather theme album.  I got this album when I was in high school and played the tape till it ran out.  I played it for the love of the music at first, then it turned into something else.  I played it before a game.  When I was sad, angry, happy.  I played it at parties, by myself, in my car, while washing my car, when I was studying (occasionally), actually anytime.  This is my album I listen to for all occasions.  I listen to it, to this day.  Now, I own a copy in a CD version.  Actually, I own 2 copies.  The songs all have political meaning, and I agree with some.  There is a story behind each song, which I learned later in life.  I took time to read the lyrics and read articles about what the songs originally meant.  They are well thought out and intelligent.  Regardless, the songs on Rust in Peace are my theme songs.  Here is a link to the album and songs.  Here is also a playlist of the songs.

1. Holy Wars.... The Punishment Due
2. Hangar 18
3. Take No Prisoners
4. Five Magics
5. Poison Was the Cure
6. Lucretia
7. Tornado of Souls
8. Dawn Patrol
9. Rust in Peace....Polaris
