Domestic Violence and Athletes


What is Domestic Violence?

According to the dictionary: violent or aggressive behavior within the home, typically involving the violent abuse of a spouse or partner.

On average, NBA players make $5.15 million, MLB players make $3.2 million, NHL players make $2.4 million, and NFL players make $1.9 million per year, according to Forbes.

According to the US Census Bureau persons with doctorates in the United States had an average income of roughly $81,400. The average for an advanced degree was $72,824, with men averaging $90,761 and women averaging $50,756 annually.

Massachusetts occupations took home an average annual salary of $56,410 — almost $10,000 more than the national figure 

What should happen to athletes that commit domestic violence?
What punishments should they receive?
