Grades and Sports

Grades and sports are topics that are takes seriously throughout the United States. In places like O'Malley, if you are failing a certain number of classes, you do not get to participate in sports. I completely agree with this idea. If you are not putting in as much effort in school that you are in sports, you should not be able to participate. School is more important than athletics. For example, two exceptional basketball players get drafted into the NBA. However, they both have career ending injuries and cannot play anymore. They will both have different futures because one athlete went to college and got his degree while the other athlete only went to college for one year. The athlete who got his degree will have a better future than the athlete who only went for one. Furthermore, it should not matter how good you are at the sport, if you are not preforming well in school, you will not be preforming on the field until you get your grades up.

Poor grades and sports

Some people have very different arguments and points on if and if not that kids should be punished on poor grades. I believe that kids that do not maintain good grades while playing sports then they should have the sport taken away and cannot play until they achieve better grades in the following term/semester. The requirements I believe to keep your sports is you must maintain an 75 or above in each class. I believe the punishment for the poor grades should not be immediate and it should only happen if in the following 7 days they still haven't got there grades up then they should be kicked out of the sports program and then have to go to a mandatory after school curricular help.

If you don't participate in athletic activities then you should still be put in the after school

Poor Grades and Sports

I don't think people should be kicked off there team just for low grades as a punishment the punishment should be either a 1 game suspension or 2 game suspension depending on there grades. I  also think that its wrong for them to kick kids off there team they should let them build up there grades after school when the team doesn't have a game or they could do it after the game or at there house and then bring the work in to their teacher or the principle in the morning before school starts or they could give them a packet to do during the day with the classes they are failing and they could work on that packet and boost their grades a lot. If someone that's on the team and the team likes that player it would drop the teams morale and they would start losing games. That's why i don't think people should be kicked off there team just because of their grades.

Poor grades

I think that when it comes to grades and sports grades should come first because.most average sports players are not going to make it in to the NHL,NFL,MBA  etc. so if you focus all your time in to sports as a kid then what are you going to to do for work as you get older if you didn't learn anything in school. I think if you are falling your main classes you should be kicked of the team and receiv  tutoring or stay after school. But if you are falling a specialist you should be able to stay on your team

Grades Before Games

We all know that when it comes to sports it's easily one of the most important things to people, but is it more important than your education? When it comes to sports and grades there is one rule every player knows, keep your grades up, because if you don't you might not get back in the game for a while. Is this to strict or just the right punishment for bad grades? For a long time there have been mixed emotions about this topic.
In my opinion I agree with this punishment because education should always come before sports. I'm not saying they should immediately be punished but if their grades are slipping they should get a warning. The teachers and coaches can take action if this student's grades continue to slip. Students should work to get good grades anyways, not just to play a sport. They should be aiming towards good grades and should be thinking about their future. It's pretty simple, if the students do their part by keeping their grades up they get rewarded with being in another game. It's a Win-Win situation for everyone.

Punishment for poor grades and sports

I believe there should be a punishment in sports for poor grades. If you grades are getting low and the excuse you have is because you are on a sports team, you should be suspended until your grades get higher. Many students use the excuse "I had practice last night and was to tired to do my homework." to get out of work, which results in grades being low due to assignments not being finished. If students who are suspended from sports because their grades are falling will not be able to have an excuse to not do homework. If you don't play a sport and you are not doing your homework or failing a class I think it's up to your parents to figure out a way to punish you.

Grades and Sports

I think that students in school should get suspended for a couple of games and then kicked of the team if they don't raise their grades. If they want to be on a sports team they need good grades because in my opinion school comes first. And if you want to get into a college for a sport you will need good grades anyways to get in. If a coach tells a student that they don't have good grades and you need to make them better in a couple of weeks or your going to get kicked of at first the kids should get suspend for a couple of games. But then after a couple of weeks if the student still doesn't have the grades that the coach wants then the student needs to get kicked off. And then another student that wants to play can join. I think that students should only get punished if they sit at there desks and do nothing. They should have to stay after and make up the work. But if a kid has not so good grades but is trying hard they should not get a punishment. But my strong opinion on the punishment for the bad grades is that it is not really up to the school to punish the student because if the kid doesn't want to do work it is there fault so it should be up to the parent to punish them or the student to start working harder.

Poor Grades and sports

I feel that people with poor grades should get punished. First it is easy to not fail any class because you have to fail almost every test and the person that is failing probably is being lazy and not caring about there grades. Also if they don't get help they will not succeed in life because if they quit sports they will have a hard time getting a good job. The person playing sports should not be allowed to play till they have a passing grade so that they can think more about school. Next if all they do is practice sports that would mean less time for studying and doing homework. If you have to maintain your grade that will stop kids from having more free time and free time can lead to doing drugs or winding up with the wrong people                                                .Image result for F

Poor Grades

The student should get suspended from the sport the student is currently participating in if they don't have passing grades. They should be suspended from their sport and stay after school to work on their work. The school that is suspending the student is doing the him/her a huge favor, the school knows that this is the best for them. Pretend if a player is very devoted to playing their sport, but isn't very concerned with their school work, somebody else would work just as hard and still have good grades.

If a student has poor grades and doesn't participate in any sports they should stay after school and improve their grade by doing work. The student likely doesn't care about school nor their grade, and have nothing else to do after school.

Should bad grades effect sports?

I feel that suspending a student for a game or two is a perfectly fine if they are getting bad grades in school. It will teach them that they can't do what they love, unless they work hard. A talk from the parents is not as effective as taking away sports temporarily. This also works with kids who do not play sports. The school can take away after school activities, school events, and recess. It is crucial that the school addresses the students about the importance of grades and how they are required for collage. Some parents don't tell their kids until it is too late.Image result for bad gradesImage result for bad gradesImage result for coach talking to player

Grades and Sports

I agree that grades are very important, but if a student is doing their best then they shouldn't get a punishment. If a student is playing sports, but is failing there must be a reason, unless they are careless. At the high school in Gloucester if you fail at least one class you are on athletic suspension until the next report card comes out. I get the reason why that rule is always enforced, if you can't handle your school work then you shouldn't be able to handle sports. That isn't always the answer, some students are trying their absolute hardest, but the curriculum is just to hard. There are also some student who have an I.E.P (individualized education program, which mean you get extra help) that are failing classes, which should never happen, in that case, it isn't their fault.
There should be a punishment in school for getting bad grades, for a specific reason, also to some extent. Going along with the I.E.P or the curriculum, it isn't the student's fault exactly. But, if a student is just being careless and the teacher notices that, then there should be some kind of punishment. The appropriate punishment would be staying after school as much as needed, until you pass that class. If a student plays sports and is failing classes, and is because of carelessness, then they should have some kind of punishment like a suspension. In addition, if a student is failing a class, again, because they are not getting the help they are promised, it isn't really their fault. They were promised extra help, and haven't gotten what they were promised and that stinks for that student. There should be a punishment for failing classes, but only for a logical reason, and if that student isn't just being careless.

Grades Vs. Sports

I think that grades should effect if you can play sports or not. First of all if you fail one class for one term you should get a warning, but if you fail two or more classes you should get kicked off the team until your grades get better, also if you fail a class two terms in a row you should get kicked off the team also until your grades get better. If you fail more than two classes i think you should get kicked off the team and also get put in tutoring classes. If you don't play sports, but you are in an after school program, you should get kicked out of that program until you are passing again.

Grades & Sports

If someone has poor grades, and is playing a sport, there should be a punishment. Picture this; Your an all star in sports but have the poorest grades. You break your leg and can never play again. What will you do now? If you had good grades you would have a fall back plan and would not have to scramble around to try and get your future career back on track. So, if there was no punishment someone's life could be ruined due to something like that.Image result for failing grade

Grades and Sports

Image result for bad grades                      I think that grades should be more important and come before sports, even if you are the star player on your team.  Sports should come last of everything you have to do and your grades should come last after everything you do. If you fail one class you should still be able to play the sport and if you fail more than two classes you shouldn't be able to play, that's that. I personally play sports and if I didn't do good on my grades then I would accept the consequences of not being able to play the sport that I play. You shouldn't complain about what happens, you should just do your grades. If the person doesn't play sports but has bad grades, they should get something taken away that they like.

Poor Grades vs. Physical Activities - (Grades vs. Sports)

I believe that poor grades should affect the sports that that person does, one example of this would be if someone failed a class and they get kicked out of the hockey team that they played. The reason I believe this is fair is mostly because of my biased opinion that education is one of the most important things, and if you fail a class then you should spend time to increase your grade. It's also part my other biased opinion of not really liking sports too much, so I wouldn't really know how it would feel to get kicked out just because flunked biology... or something. So because almost all of my opinions are biased, I can't really give a legitimate response to that question...Image result for vault boy

Grades And Sports

Getting suspended from a sports team for having bad grades is, in my opinion, fine. If you cant get and keep good grades and be on a sports team, then you should focus more on school. You shouldn't be kicked off the team, but should be suspended or take mandatory after-school so that you don't have to stay back. I don't personally play any sports, however I'm sure it wouldn't be fun to just be kicked off the team for having bad grades.

Grades and Sports

If you were to get bad grades in sports I dont think you should get kicked off the team, a warning in then a suspension should do it. If the person continuously gets bad grades and doesn't listen to the warnings of from the coach or whoever about the bad grades then yes getting expelled should be kicked off. Its to a certain extent but to expel or suspend them right away isn't fair, you have to give them a chance to fix the problem. As for just a person who doesn't play sports but gets bad grades there should be some type of punishment not expelling but something. But again it all depends on the grades themselves if someone just sits at their desk and chooses not to work and puts in no effort at all into school and their  grades shot that there should be something like we have at our school a mandatory extended day a hour after school to make up work if they failed a class. Only should be a punishment if they failed though. If you dont play sports you should still get a type of punishment like no extra curricular activities from the school or doing any type of club with the school, this is just like the punishment for sports player its a temporary suspension for something in the school. Those seem fair.

Poor grades and sports

If a student has poor grades they should get a punishment. If a student fails a class, they should be suspended for a couple of weeks, as a warning for them to pick up their grades. They should not be immediately removed, because that is unfair. They wouldn't be able to pick their grade up. By suspension, they will be able to spend more time on their classwork, while staying on the team. Another reason suspending is a good punishment is because suspension is also warning them about college. In college, if you have poor grades, you can get kicked out of the college that they paid lots of money for. After the suspension, if the person's grades don't pick up, they shall then be suspended from the team. If the student doesn't care, the school isn't going to care. There will be another kid who will work just as hard as that student did, and keep their grades up. By suspended the kid, they will get a reality check and try to keep their grades up. Or, they won't. But that is there choice.Image result for poor grades and sportsImage result for poor grades and sports
