What is Sportsmanship to me? When I think of sportsmanship I think of respect, helping others, doing what you should and not cheating, and also to just be nice in general. One example is If somebody gets hurt during a sports event then stop the game If the ref didn't catch It. Also another example is if you get out in dodge ball and Epple did not catch it calling yourself out is the right thing to do and these are some good examples of what sportsman ship is to me.
Who is your inspiration? (Project Explanation and Student Work)
This is the first assignment for the A5, Seventh and Eighth grade classes. We started our class by addressing the questions: What is inspiration? What is motivation? We then watched the following clips:
Shane Koyczan's To This Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltun92DfnPY
Unbroken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26U_seo0a1g
Why Do We Fall?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgmVOuLgFB0
Afterwards we discussed each clip and what they were about. We talked about what worked and what did not work in each video clip. The students then worked on their own writing assignment about What is their motivation/ inspiration? They also had to talk about Who is their Inspiration? The results are the following. Please enjoy:

My inspiration is
MYSELF
`Sure my friends make fun of me, but I am still their friend after like lets say 5 years, especially Ryan, he’s been my friend since when I was like 3. I am proud that I have enough strength to still be friends with them. I have two youtube channels, and after major criticism on it, still post things. I am a gamer, and I keep coming back to it, I usually don’t change my mind, and I’m mostly loyal. I am nice, and keep secrets most of the time. I was born on March 27, 2003 went to Veterans, and I’m at O’Maley. I am smart, and hope to go to college, where I can use my smarts for good. To be honest, I’m a nerd, and a geek, but that doesn’t stop me from being friends with the “cool” kids. I try to stay positive, but every bubble bursts one day. That is my inspiration, and I hope it stays the same.
Silas Emerson:
INSPIRATION
My inspiration is Ray Lewis. he is the retired middle linebacker for the baltimore ravens.
Ray Lewis inspires me because of his dedication for the game. Ray Lewis is a very emotional player, He played the game with a certain level of intensity that i just really loved and respected. Ray Lewis was born in 1975, his nfl career lasted 17 years he retired in 2012 the year they won the superbowl. He also won a superbowl in the year 2000. Ray Lewis attended the University of Miami. He had one brother named Keon Lattimore. Ray Lewis was drafted into the nfl at the age of 20, in the year 1995. Ray Lewis has had a phenomenal 17 year career, and he is my inspiration.
Brett Goulart:
Inspiration
Major injuries ACL controls rotation and forward movement of the shin bone. Losing this rotation can end careers or even put people in wheelchairs. The ACL connects from the bottom of the fibi to the top of the tibia. Losing an area in the knee like that could make easy things like standing hard nevermind it could end NFL careers. Lower leg moving to rotation to the thigh leg being twisted inwards middle line of the body. If he knew to protect that area of the knee more it possibly could've stopped the injuries. The MCL is located on the middle knee and gives the knee stability. Without that knee stability a leg could collapse and end your career.
Describing AP. He used the torn ACL and MCL as an opportunity to come back the next year and be the mvp in the nfl and was only 4 yard away for breaking the single season rushing yards. He also used this injury to get better at the game once he came back. In 2012, Peterson became the sixth fastest player to reach 8,000 rushing yards, ending the season with 2,097 rushing yards, just nine yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson's single season all-time record. Peterson amassed 2,314 all-purpose yards from scrimmage in 2012, tying Marcus Allen for the eighth-highest total ever. For his efforts, he received the NFL MVP Award and the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award for the 2012 NFL season. Peterson also achieved the #1 spot on the NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2013.

Are obstacle was all and mcl injury on Adrian Peterson it is important because it can show people they can overcome an injury no matter what is is. The opportunity is incredible because someone was able to come back from such an injury and excel in his area of work. If Adrian Peterson didn't work as hard as he did we would not be able to come back from his injury.
Kyriah Smithson:
my inspiration is Gabi Butler. She is an all star cheerleader for a cheer team in Florida. She cheers for Gym Tyme Blink. If you are not into cheering or know about the cheer world then you probabl y do not know who Gabi is. she is famous in the cheer world she is especially known for her super flexability. When she was about 8 years old she was detirmaned to make herself double jointed, her mom said that she did in a week. When Gabi puts her mind to something she makes sure that she gets it done. She is a three time world champion which means she has won a huge competition against 1,000 teams and her team came out on top three times in a row. At that time she was cheering for California All Stars Smoed. She orignally lived in Florida so that is why she now cheers for a Florida team. Gabi Butler is an inpiration to so many young cheerleaders out in the world especially me!!!
Mia Wheeler:
Jennie Finch
Jennie Finch is my personal inspiration! She was born in La Mirada California on September 3 ,1980. She is my inspiration because she went to the 2004 and 2008 olympics for the USA softball team. Also she is my favorite because I play softball and she is an amazing player!! Also she had a child and right after that she didn’t give up on her career!! Also she is an amazing person!!!!!
TJ Jenkins:
My Inspiration
My Inspiration is Michael Jordan. He is my inspiration because he is from the Brooklyn New York and that is not a good place to grow up.Michael Jordan was cut from his basketball team in high school because they said that he was too short he was 5’5”.But he didn’t give up.He kept practicing until college.Michael Jordan went to North Carolina for college. He won the NCAA Champion and the ACC player of the year. They also later on retired his number. In 1984 Michael Jordan was drafed in the frist round number 3 by the Chciago Bulls.
Jason Levearalt:
Bobby Orr
My inspiration is Bobby Orr because he changed the way a defenseman in hockey could play. The way he did this is by scoring the most points and getting the most assists in a single season. This changed defense from always being back protecting the net to being able to rush up and score. This is how Bobby Orr changed the way a defenseman plays and inspired me.
Gabrielle Argentino:
This is Mark Thomas. he is my inspiration. Mark has a disease… called Morquio Syndrome. Morquio Syndrome is a disease that makes your body too small for your organs. I chose Mark for my inspiration because while he has this disease he still stays happy. Mark is also a YouNower, younow is an app where you can live broadcast yourself. kind of like a you tube but live. Mark is 14 years young, he was born on March 29, 2000. He also makes music.lys which is kind of like a vine but not.

My brother is my inspiration
My brother is my inspiration because he is going to college. He is the best role model because he is good at school. He was good at football. My brother grew up in gloucester he played for the tigers for football. My brother went to The Gloucester High School. He is going to Southern New Hampshire University. His birthday is the September 21 .
Matthew Green-Burke:
My inspiration is Marcus Smart
He is an amazing basketball player and I hope to be like him someday. I was watching him one day play celtics vs raptors. The raptors were up one point. Celtics had one chance. There was about 1.6 seconds on the clock. They pass it into Smart. He throws up the lay up. As he does this he falls to the floor. I GOES IN!!! Everyone in the crowd is cheering. And Marc sits there with a slight smirk. The raptors thought they had it, but it was over. The raptors walked over to the benches with a sad look. Me and my dad were celebrating as the celtics won their game. And at that moment I knew, I wanted to be just like Marcus Smart.
Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship
Not being a sore loser and swallowing your pride and congratulating the other person and no one likes to lose but throwing a tantrum just because you lost is just dumb also sportsmanship is'nt just in sports it is being the bigger person and ending arguments before they start, sticking up for someone getting bullied. In a nutshell sportsmanship is being a good person and thats all I got : )
What Does Sportsmanship Mean To Me?
Sportsmanship means a lot to me,mostly because I play a lot of sports and if your an athlete you need good sportsmanship. Sportsmanship means to have a good attitude toward what you are doing and to play and be clean. Sportsmanship is very important and means a lot to me.
my inspiration is Gabi Butler. She is an all star cheerleader for a cheer team in Florida. She cheers for Gym Tyme Blink. If you are not into cheering or know about the cheer world then you probably do not know who Gabi is. she is famous in the cheer world she is especially known for her super flexibility. What does sportsman ship mean to me?
Sportsmanship to me mean being respectful and kind.I have experienced sportsmanship a lot of times. Once my basketball team was in the playoffs and there was a huge player on the other team and we couldn't stop he until we pitched in to guard him together us a team.We where getting in his head because he score and he was getting mad he was being really rude to us but we just kept on playing and we pulled out a win. After the we were shaking hands and I told him to keep playing good and he told me good luck I the championship.
Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship to me doesn't have to do anything with sports, just the people. Like if a person donates blood to a hospital, or donates another part or item. But of course it's also in sports, and I feel as if I should say there is. So sure sportsmanship is just a word, but an important one at that.
Sportsmanship
What does sportsmanship mean to me
Sportsmanship means that you will go out of your way to help someone, no matter if you are on the same team or not. It doesn't have to be in sports either. One time someone was unsportsmanlike to me. I knocked him down in football and then he pushed me when I was getting back up.
Sportsmanship
What does sportsmanship mean to me? Sportsmanship means to me that even if you win or lose you are respectful and nice to the other team or people. An example that I have is that when my team lost a game and we were pretty disappointed. Then the other team can over to our bench and just started talking to us not even acknowledging that they just beat us. They were really nice to us!
sportsmanship
sportsmanship means to me is be nice and kind. Do not be rude if you knock something out of somebody's hand you pick it up.

Sportsmanship
One day I was at a hockey game and my brother's team was winning. A team mate was going to shoot a goal and she got hit right in the head and fell to the ground. They game kept going on ( my brother is a goalie) when the other team took a shot and my brother caught it and didn't give it back to the ref, he pointed to the player on his team that was hurt(his best friend). A player on the other team carried him to the bench and the coaches looked at him and he had broken his collar bone, but if it wasn't for my brother and the other team that player would've been on the ice hurt for the rest of the game.
Sportsmanship to me means respect of the other team. Like if someone is hurt and no one helps that person to me its bad sportsmanship, but if someone (especially on the other team) helps them to me that is great sportsmanship
A person that inspires me is Lionel Messi. He is considered the world's best soccer player. He is an amazing player and role model. He was the only person to win four consecutive Balon d’Or trophies (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). He has won the golden shoe 3 times. Although he has many rivals such as Ronaldo, I still believe that he is the best. He has inspired me to be the best soccer player I can be.
My Inspiration
My inspiration is twaimz he is a viner and youtuber. Twaimz real name is Issa, he was born in California on May 13, 1995. Twaimz is of Arabic decent and he has an older sister. he is an inspiration to me because every day he post a video and in his videos he acts really weird and funny but he doesn't care what people say. Recently he posted a video called you don’t have to be happy. Its about him talking about how his grandfather past away but he was not really that upset about it he was upset because there was this girl at the funeral who made a little speech about why his grandfather was important to her. she was in a foster home all her life being past from family to family. When she was old enough she moved into an apartment across from issas’ grandfather. She didn't really have a real family, so issa’s grandfather and grandmother were like her mother and father. When she was old enough she moved into an apartment across from issas’ grandfather. Every Christmas she put up christmas lights in her house, and if she didn't issa’s grandfather would call her and say you didn’t put the lights on, and she’d put the lights on. In the video issa said if you ever need anyone to talk to you can talk to me. That's why issa is my inspiration.

Sportsmanship to me is all about picking someone up when they’re down, congratulating them when they made a good play, and shaking their hand when the game is over. Sportsmanship is very important, even if the other team or person is being a bad sport about something its always nice to be a good sport to them.

A-5, 7th and 8th Grader Player Profiles
This is the second assignment for our A5 class. The students observed examples of player profiles, in different types of sports. We discussed what would be relevant items for our A5 player profiles. Coaches (7th and 8th Graders that work with the 6th Grade A-5 class) introduced what they came up with for important player profile statistics. We discussed as a group and agreed on the statistics for each player profile. We began taking student player pictures for this assignment and the students created their own player profiles. Please enjoy our 7th and 8th grade player profiles:
